Pro Sports specializes in the "festival-ization" of events. This takes a routine sporting event and transforms it into a program with "wow" factor. These types of events have great sport logistics along with delicious food, beer gardens, vendor booths, product sampling, live entertainment, digital media recording and more. The result is an exciting day that is very popular with athletes, fans, sponsors, and organizing committees. Pro Sports Management is run by Tim Simpson and Brian Risk and their team of experts.
Tim Simpson (Co-owner of Pro Sports Management) was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He studied at Acadia and Queen’s Universities and played varsity soccer. He is a high school teacher at Chippewa Secondary School in North Bay with over 28 years experience. In his sports event planning experience, he has organized 6 northern Ontario basketball championships, developed and ran 2 youth club basketball leagues, organized numerous closing banquets for several leagues and tournaments, and has run basketball camps for the last 20 summers. In 2001, he took over the convener-ship of the Tomahawk Basketball tournament and developed it into a two-day, 85 team tournament played in 10 gymnasiums. Teams now register a year in advance to play in this major event. As a coach, Tim has .730 win percentage and brought his team to the championships final 27 out of 28 years. He has coached soccer, football, volleyball, and track and field. Tim’s major role in Pro Sports Management is event development and logistics. He is gifted in the areas of being a visionary and seeing the potential of events. Tim is the go-to guy when it is time to find solutions to challenging situations.
Brian Risk (Co-owner of Pro Sports Management) was born in North Bay, Ontario. He studied at Nipissing and Queen’s Universities. His athletic experience includes junior hockey in Toronto, college hockey in Toronto, football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. His major athletic experience came in track and field where he competed as a pole vaulter and decathlete. In coaching, Brian is an NCCP Level 5 coach, was the National Pole Vault Development Chair for Canada, and Master Course Conductor for the NCCP. He has been assigned to the National Team on 14 occasions including several stints as Head Coach and one stint as Observer Coach at the 1996 Olympic Games. He is a published author in sport psychology and pole vaulting. Brian has extensive experience in event planning including organizing the Coaching education program at the 2000 Olympic prep camp in Flagstaff, Arizona; overall chair for the 50th Anniversary of the Chippewa Secondary School Alumni; and National coach and athlete preparation for the sport of pole vault. Brian is a retired teacher of 32 years at Chippewa Secondary School. Brian’s major role in Pro Sports Management is web design, graphic design, social media, and event continuity. Brian is also an independent recording artist with much stage experience as as singer, songwriter, guitarist, and front man for a rock band.
John Desmormeaux (Swag Leader) was born in Sudbury, Ontario. John is an entrepreneur who runs the uniforms, banners, signs and posters for Pro Sports Management. His company On Site Sportswear is not a division of Pro Sports Management but his friendship, loyalty and ability to deliver a great product has made him a valuable asset to our organization. John is the founder of the True Form Basketball Camp and the Can Stars Elite Basketball Program.
Sales Team - our sales team is top notch. They listen to what our sponsors want and deliver with precision.
Satellite Operations - The Pro Sports Management base of operations is in North Bay, Ontario however satellite are now running in Ottawa and Barrie. We are proud to partner with fantastic event planners in these great cities to bring lots of fun, exciting, and unique sporting events.
Charitable Foundations - Pro Sports Management is please worked in conjunction with the Canadian Cancer Society. A portion of our proceeds from events goes toward Breast Cancer research.
